Outcomes

We are always going to attach ourselves in some form or another. How often do we worry about what might come of the effort we put into a project at work, a holiday we’re planning, or a meal we’re preparing, that we never really enjoy the work itself? So often we worry if we’ll be successful enough, or ‘good enough’, that we forget why we started in the first place. We hold onto a model of reality that we've formed in our heads and attach us to something that isn’t real and might never be real. Unknowingly we create obstacles for the future to unfold freely.
How would it feel to act in a particular direction with a good intention, and let go of the outcome? To be able to do this we need to realize that there are no good or bad outcomes. There is no narrative we can control. Whatever happens, happens. Why do we attach ourselves all the time? Even to things we have no control over, like the weather. The weather is just what it is. It is not good or bad, only thinking makes it so. No outcome it's better or worse than another, only in comparison does it become that. The rain today is only bad because of the sun yesterday. Can we live in this moment as we would have chosen it? To live it fully we need to let go of the attachment. Because this moment will only be what it is right now, and nothing else. We will never be something else than this moment. Non-attachment is a journey on which we need to bring acceptance and faith. We start to take actions of faith. Because that is what living with non-attachment means. To have faith. The moment we take a step we do so on an act of faith. When we set out on a journey we do so on an act of faith. Every relationship we enter we do so with faith. We have to give ourselves up and surrender. Because there is a direct connection between surrender and creation.
What narratives are you trying to control? What models of reality are you attaching yourself to, that haven’t even happened yet? What is your intention with what you do right now?
