Once Dharma

I'm sitting on a timber deck at the foot of an ocean cliff. The deck is right over the ocean and while I write these words down I can see the waves below playing against the rocks underneath me. Looking up I see along the cliff face and out onto the surf. The waves are breaking over the reef in an esthetic fashion. If you want an analogy for life, daily practice and consistency take the waves. They just keep on coming, no matter what the circumstances. High tide, low tide, sunny or rainy, small or big effort. They keep on coming, without knowing what the final result will be. There is beauty in this process of trying. It is majestic and calming. What else would the ocean rather do? It does what it is made to do. It fully lives in his Dharma line. All I can feel is a deep appreciation for being able to observe and interpret this process. Feeling an appreciation for my cognitive abilities to do so.
The observation of nature is a gift and a calming thing to do. We observe nature and the wisdom held within it. We feel part of it. No matter how urbanized we are. In moments of solitude, we are observing the nature within us. There is no difference between a human and the world around us. It is all one. We are as much nature as nature is us. There is no real difference. Maybe only that one is doing what one was made to do. What else would the one rather do? It lives it’s Dharma not questioning if it is right or wrong. One is fully aware that you rather do your own Dharma wrongly than someone else's Dharma good.
