Till the End of Time

At the end of a yoga practice in a beautiful shala, I allow my body to drop back into Savasana. I consciously release the tension within my physical body, stretch my tongue out my mouth as I soften through my jaw, and let the breath decide which pathway to take. My eyelids fall a millimeter back open as I let my gaze rest into expected nothingness. On the ceiling of the shala I recognize a big ceiling fan turning and as I let the context of my observation go it begins to turn into running legs. Relentlessly walking without stopping or waiting for anybody. Life is a little bit like this fan. Relentlessly turning, not stopping or waiting for anybody. You can either become the legs and continue to move and walk with the rhythm of life, even though it might feel like going in circles. You can also decide to stop and be walked over by life again and again till the end of time. Your time, not the end of life's time. Because the fan will continue to turn even after I closed the practice and left the shala.
