Support EQUALS Support

How do you define support? What does this word mean for you?

I often get commented on my boldness to communicate my thoughts when asked for my opinion (or not). By a lot of my friends this is often perceived as rude or insensitive.
This “issue” leads back to the question of ‘how we define support’ and how we view praise.

Support for lot of people means something positive. If you support something or someone you say something positive. Makes sense…
I personally would give support a different meaning. Or an additional face.
Positive support is essential and important, but ‘negative’ support or feedback, is just as important!
Everything has an opposite as we know. Good has bad. High has low. A coin has a face and a number.  And in between is often balance. One is nothing without the other.
Balance means to act in accordance with nature and negative feedback or support is just as important and valuable as positive support.

Not taking it personally is an entirely different art of balancing...
That lead us to: ‘What is praise?’ Expressing warm approval or admiration to someone. Cheering someone on for an accomplishment.
But praise does not make the accomplish better. It creates a feeling.
Rarely, and I don’t say never, changes praise anything or improves much. For me praise is the end of improvement. Encouragement can almost be seen as the act of balancing praise, while continuing improvement.

Nothing is good by its own. Everything needs to have an opponent to hold meaning for itself.
