Living in Space

“When one door closes another one opens.”
A very common and often said quote when something didn't go as planned and we set out on a new journey. It's supposed to make us feel better. But oftentimes it fails to do so over the long run. Things don't go our way and we start to get upset that there isn't another door with opportunities opening. We forgot that we don't live for the doors. Life doesn’t happen in the door itself or in the act of opening the door. Life happens in the hallway between the doors, sometimes even in the staircase or on the street, we have to cross before getting to the next door. This space we have to move through, between doors, is challenging sometimes. It requires consistency and faith in what you are trying to do. It requires you to keep walking your way and to put one foot in front of the next. On the journey, there will be all sorts of feelings and emotions. Both, good and bad ones.
Getting to another door is only a moment in time. The space between is life itself. Even when you get to the next door, and you open it there will be more space behind the door. Space filled with good and bad things. It doesn't matter how the door looks like. If it is beautiful, huge, and expensive. What matters is behind, in front, or between. You're constantly moving through time, through space, and you constantly moving between doors. You’ll never arrive anywhere. So, ask yourself if you can accept the present moment as if you have chosen it?
