How to deal with “Problems”
Let me tell you a story I come across from Jack Kornfield:
“A group of monks walked through the forest where they come across a big boulder.
The wise master asked his students: “Do you think that this boulder is heavy?”
The smart students replied: “Yes, master. Of cause this boulder is heavy!”
To what the master replied: “Not if you don’t pick it up…”
What does this story tell us?
It is a story about choice.
In a world full of boulders laying around in our day-to-day lives. It our choice if we pick them up or not!
We can bring awareness to the weight we are already carrying with us and decide to work on it to eventually being able to drop the boulder.
“I’m hungry.”
“I’m cold.”
“I’m tired.”
…
These sentences are all simple day-to-day problems we are very aware of and are able to fix immediately through taking action.
But from time to time we come across something that bothers us. Something that can not be fixed by drinking, eating or putting on an extra layer of clothing or turning up the heater.
We designed at environment full of mental stressors, like anxiety or self-doubt. They don’t have any weight themselves.

With this blog I encourage you to pause, stop and reflect. Ask questions…
What is going on in my life? What do I spent a great amount of time on thinking about? How am I feeling about myself looking into the mirror?
Whatever you come up with ask yourself if the answer is serving you right now? Am I able to drop anything? What do I need to do to be able to or do I need help to drop it?
In a world with compassion we can all look up for help and help others carrying their boulders. It goes without saying that an extra hand will decrease the weight we are carrying.
And being afraid of asking for help is a boulder in itself I recommend not picking up…
