Free yourself

It is hard to be yourself if you don't feel yourself.
But who decides that anyway? I don't feel like I'm in control of my feelings! They seem to overtake me and I’m sentenced to experience them. Good and bad, I don't have any influence over what is happening to me.
Yet, am I not creating how I perceive the world? Am I not creating my complete own experience? It's a pretty tricky topic and it's hard to wrap your head around it.

How do I create everything, even though it is just happening to me? 

Well, who is creating my experience? Or better, what is creating it?
Your five senses turn everything around you into what you experiencing right now and these five senses seem to identify with the mind. Your eyes, your ears, your taste, your smell, and your touch turn it all into your unique experience and in this way, you are creating every little bit of life yourself.

Everything we think, we think because of something that happened prior. Nothing we perceive in our conscious awareness really comes from there, it is only brought into our awareness. Every thought, every word, and every action. There is no choice we make to experience them. (Don’t believe me? Try not to think of an elephant…)
We, in terms of I, don’t exist! It is only another construct of thought of our unconscious brought up into our conscious awareness. There is no I, no operator! If there would be and you would have absolute free will over your thoughts, decisions, and feelings, you could just stop thinking or feeling.

It's hard to comprehend. Isn’t it? 

Our brain is coded to not hurt itself. So if we don't understand something it will jump to assumptions, and conclusions and fill out the unknown to protect itself. Not being in control can feel like a loss. It can make you angry. YET, I think acknowledging this can also be very freeing! It leads you to feel empathy for other people’s decisions and choices. It also helps you to allow and almost enjoy every bad feeling or thought. Because it is nobody’s fault, not even yours. It’s just the situation we ended in up because of what happened previously.

We all want to be strong, and that is why we have difficulties to overcome.
We all want to be wise, and that’s why we have problems to solve.
We just have to live it! We don’t have a choice not to.
Know that nothing is forever. Neither bad nor good. It shall all pass and in the end, everything will be ok. And if it is not ok yet, then it is probably not the end.
